Topics will include the Federal Circuit’s latest pronouncement on patent exhaustion in Helferich Patent Licensing, LLC; the Federal Circuit’s decision to take the issue of international patent exhaustion en banc; the Federal Circuit’s Ericsson v. D-Link case, which provides guidance on damages for standard essential patents; and the recent amendments to the patent policy of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to clarify the FRAND (Fair, Reasonable and Non-Discriminatory) obligations of its members when licensing patents covering IEEE Standards.
